Hindmarsh River

Gone Fishin

Yesterday we went fishing on the Hindmarsh at Victor - lots of little stuff and two Bream caught went back in as they were a bit undersize. Rani went for an unexpected dip (ie fell in) and Khan slept. Di has advised that the fishing needs to make returns on the investment (bait costs) now we're on a budget. Have posted some new photos.

Victor Harbor

Back in SA

We've arrived safely in Victor Harbor - where Di lived during her teenage years and I came to for the occasional holiday and a bit of fishing. We have finally worked out how all the gadgets in the van work - and it's all working very well - right down to the mini washing machine in the rear bathroom (my kind of camping) . The dogs are having a ball and we're doing a lot a walking which is great but we're falling asleep each night around 9pm. We will spend a couple of weeks here and will also take the opportunity to visit Di's favourite Aunty and help out a bit on her farm. Will try to work out how to insert some photo's today!

No Country For Brass Monkeys

We left Melbourne this morning and did our first real leg with the van in tow - about 320k to Horsham. All is going really well and the Ford Ranger (Mule) had no problems towing the Montana at the speed limit/100k. Beautiful in Horsham - but very cold tonight (4 degrees). Off to Tailem Bend tomorrow.

Thanks to Brett/Dr Evil for all of the comments... and sorry - the extra room in the van is occupied by a Pug and a Staffy.

The New Montana

Cold in Melbourne

Well we've collected the Cooper at the factory in Melbourne. The van was actually being finished whilst we were there and so we could see the final stages. The Montana company is a family affair and they were really helpful and fastidious in their work. We're staying a few more days in Melbourne so we can fully set up the van with the ton of gear we brought in the dual-cab and also work out how everything works. Met more nice people in the van park here - amazing how many people are traveling around Australia. Should be off on our journey to SA tomorrow.

Hello to our friends at LWB and DOC.

Rainy Day in Dubbo

Minor Nomad Repairs

April 6th just arrived in Dubbo. It's raining and cold...and I've caught a cold. To add insult to injury I got into the car and wiped my glasses to get the rain off- and they broke in half. A quick stop at Dubbo BCF for some fishing crimps and araldite and I'm seeing again -but looking like a slightly vagrant computer-nerd. Tomorrow we continue towards Melbourne.

Bought Di some "Beautiful" perfume at Myers Dubbo central - her favourite.
