Fish, Fish, Fish

and some Seals

Di and I found an old fishing spot and it's got better with age. Caught about 30 Sweep and a few Rock Cod despite being crowded by a playful group of seals. Guess who had fish for dinner (and for the rest of the week). Going shopping at the big smoke (Yorketown) tomorrow. See new photo's posted.

Fish Fear Me....Women Want Me

ie Women want me to clean the fish

Di and I are currently in Edithburgh for a week and stopped in at beautiful Port Vincent along the way. We're at the caravan park right next to the small jetty and we've been getting quite a lot of fish. So far we've caught squid, whiting, tommies, gar, leatherjackets and trumpeter. We met a realy nice semi-grey nomad couple here who have invited us to drop in and see them when we're back in Adelaide. As it's now the weekend we'll let the fish off for a day (dodge tide) and go exploring. Khan ate my berley this morning as I'd obviously been starving him and he's wasting away (eg down to about 55 pounds).

Four Seasons in One Day

Last Days in Adelaide for a while

Di and I have been catching up with my family in Adelaide and also doing some continued research on her family ancestors. Have done some really interesting research at the West Terrace Cemetary and were impressed at the "touch screen" facility to map the location of family grave sites etc. Have also been looking at some old family homes that are still standing in the Norwood/Kensington area. It was great to chat to my dear friend VN today on the phone and we hope that she and her husband will be ready to travel like Di and I later this year. In two days we'll head off to the Yorke Peninsula for some serious fishing. I suspect the fish are getting nervous... The weather continues to be cold and blustery generally but it changes every few hours. I've been slipping with the photos but have posted one of one of the local top knots who comes each morning for a feed.

Arrived in Adelaide

Goodbye South Coast

We left Victor Harbor this morning and have set up in a caravan park north of Adelaide. Going to catch up with family and friends this week before heading off to the Yorke Peninsula for some fishing. We have posted a couple of new photos today.

Goolwa

Day out at Goolwa with Di's Aunty

Toured around Goolwa today - did some genealogy work re Di's ancestors and stopped near the marina for morning tea. Some really lovely old cottages in Goolwa but it's changed quite a bit from when we used to visit 20 years ago - a lot more development is evident. In the background of the latst photo you should be able to make out the controversial bridge to Hindmarsh Island.
